The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) provides a wide range of work- and welfare-related services and it contributes to the financial security of people individually. This depends on close interaction with participants, employers and local authorities, and on maintaining a considerable focus on special needs individual’s potential concerns in the labour market as well as on concerns others in challenging life situations face.
NAV’s vision is to provide people with opportunities! This vision reflects three basic social benefits that the Service is charged with ensuring:

• The opportunity to experience basic financial security as prescribed by law.
The Norwegian Labour and Welfare Service (NAV) is working according to a number of values, values who’s main tenets is best described by three words:
Availability - NAV’s focus is on providing easy telephone and internet access to services at its local offices. The representatives must pay attention to each person encountered, pay attention to what they have to say, make sure their meaning is understood correctly and contribute accordingly.
Clarity - NAV focuses on being clear about what steps it can take and what particular actions are expected of the client. The representative must clearly state his position, what is expected of the client and what the Service is in a position to do. The Service has no other mission for its combined efforts than to help the individual.
Solution-orientation - NAV must be good at finding solutions, together with the client, near the client, and right from within the organisation. Being solution-orientated requires cooperation, creativity and positive energy in order to bring to fruition measures that are fair, feasible and necessary.
